How to Wear Rudraksha

Step-by-Step Wearing Guide

Choose the Right Rudraksha

Select a Rudraksha based on your zodiac sign, birth planet, or specific need (health, wealth, focus). Consult our mukhi guide or contact our experts for personalized guidance.

Energize (Abhishek) Before Wearing

Soak the bead in clean water overnight. The next morning, wash it with raw milk, then pure water. Dry gently with a clean cloth while chanting 'Om Namah Shivaya' 108 times.

Thread or Cap the Bead

Thread the Rudraksha on a red or black silk thread, or use a silver/gold cap. Avoid copper threads as they can react with the skin. Knot firmly on both sides of the bead.

Wear on an Auspicious Day

Ideally wear for the first time on a Monday (ruled by Shiva) or during Shivratri. Wear it in the morning after bathing, facing East, and chant your deity's mantra.

Wear Close to the Skin

For maximum benefit, Rudraksha should touch your skin. As a necklace it should rest near the heart chakra. As a bracelet, wear on your writing hand.

Do's & Don'ts

●Remove before sleeping initially (wear once energized for 40 days)
●Apply coconut or sandalwood oil every 15 days
●Store in a clean, sacred space when not worn
●Chant your mantra while wearing each morning
●Wear with devotion and intention

❌ Don'ts

●Do not wear to funerals or after consuming non-veg/alcohol
●Do not let others touch your Rudraksha frequently
●Avoid harsh chemical soaps or perfumes on the bead
●Do not share your personal Rudraksha with others
●Avoid wearing in a dirty or impure state

Maintenance & Care

🌿 Apply coconut or sandalwood oil monthly to keep the bead supple and prevent cracking.
💧 Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid soaking in water for extended periods.
☀️ Sun-dry for 1–2 hours every month to renew its energy.
📿 Re-thread on red silk thread annually or whenever the thread shows wear.
🙏 If the bead cracks or breaks, immerse it in a flowing river with prayers and get a new one.
